Post-Publication Discussion
Spektrum Industri: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengetahuan dan Penerapan Teknik Industri encourages constructive, evidence-based scholarly discussion of articles published in the journal. Post-publication discussion enables readers, researchers, and authors to clarify, evaluate, and discuss published findings, thereby supporting scientific progress and preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.
1. Submission of Comments and Concerns
Readers and researchers may submit comments, scholarly critiques, questions, or concerns regarding published articles through the journal's official editorial email address : spektrum.industri@ie.uad.ac.id or other communication channels designated by the journal.
Submissions should be relevant to the published article, supported by appropriate evidence where applicable, and written in a professional, objective, and respectful manner. Authors submitting comments must disclose any relevant competing interests.
2. Editorial Assessment and Author Response
All submissions are assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor for scholarly relevance, originality, accuracy, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics policies. The editor may reject submissions that are irrelevant, unsupported, misleading, defamatory, discourteous, or unrelated to the scholarly content of the article.
Where appropriate, the original author(s) will be invited to respond to substantive comments or criticisms within a reasonable period. The journal may request additional evidence, consult independent experts, or subject the comment and response to further editorial assessment or peer review before making a publication decision.
To promote fairness and balanced scholarly debate, the journal may publish the critique and the author's response together or in a related publication format, where appropriate. If an invited author does not respond, the journal may proceed with its assessment of the comment and determine whether publication is justified.
3. Research Integrity Concerns
If a post-publication discussion raises concerns about errors, research misconduct, or the reliability of a published article, the journal will assess the matter in accordance with its publication ethics policies and relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Depending on the nature of the concern and the available evidence, the journal may request clarification from the authors, consult independent experts, or contact the authors' affiliated institutions when further investigation is necessary. Appropriate editorial actions may include publishing a correction, an expression of concern, a retraction, or another relevant editorial notice.
The journal will follow the applicable COPE guidance, including the flowchart for handling post-publication critiques, when determining the appropriate course of action.
4. Transparency and Fairness
Post-publication discussions are handled objectively, fairly, and as promptly as reasonably possible. Relevant parties will be given an appropriate opportunity to provide explanations or responses. Editorial decisions will be based on scholarly merit, the available evidence, and applicable publication ethics standards, without discrimination or undue influence.
The journal will maintain appropriate records of substantive concerns and the actions taken. Any published critique, response, or editorial notice will be linked to the relevant article where technically feasible to ensure transparency and facilitate access to the scholarly discussion.
