Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
All manuscripts submitted to Spektrum Industri: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengetahuan dan Penerapan Teknik Industri are screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software, such as CrossCheck/iThenticate, where available. Manuscripts are initially checked by a member of the editorial team before being sent to peer reviewers.
Submitted manuscripts must have an overall similarity index of less than 20%, excluding the bibliography, with a similarity score of no more than 2% from any single source. Meeting these thresholds does not automatically guarantee acceptance, as all similarity reports are assessed by the editorial team to determine whether the identified similarities constitute plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse.
Spektrum Industri does not tolerate plagiarism or self-plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, inappropriate reuse of previously published material, or unattributed use of other authors' work may be rejected. Further action may be taken in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and publication ethics procedures.
Plagiarism is the presentation of another person's ideas, words, data, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without proper acknowledgment, citation, or permission where required. It may take several forms, including but not limited to the following:
-
Direct plagiarism: Copying another author's words or passages, in whole or in part, without appropriate quotation, citation, acknowledgment, or permission where required.
-
Substantial plagiarism: Reproducing a substantial portion of another work without proper acknowledgment. Substantiality may be assessed in terms of both quantity and the significance of the material copied in relation to the original work.
-
Paraphrasing plagiarism: Rewriting or restating another person's ideas, arguments, or findings without adequately acknowledging and citing the original source.
-
Self-plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's own previously published work without appropriate citation, disclosure, or justification.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, that all sources are properly cited, and that any third-party material is used with the necessary permissions. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports in context and makes decisions based on the nature, extent, and significance of the identified similarities, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
